What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.
I spent 2 days in Iasi visiting Fr. Dan Damaschin and following his steps to his daily activities.
On my first day visit to Fr Dan Damaschin, we went together to Popesti village in Iasi County and visited 35 underprivileged children. We offered them pizza, juice and ice cream.
Day 2 of my visit, July 7th, began at the Church with divine Liturgy at 6 am, followed by the Sacrament of the Holy Unction, confession and communion for pregnant mothers from the maternity Hospital.
After that, we visited the new location of the "Voice of Life" Association: Asociatia Glasul Vietii, in Ticau - Iasi. We stopped at the St. Stephan's church/parish, where many families were waiting to receive food, diapers, and household supplies. The Association has built a playground for children next to the church. On the north side of the playground there is a house that serves as an office for the Association. On the empty lot below the playground will be built an emergency shelter for urgent cases.
Later that afternoon, we visited the dorms and classrooms where underprivileged children live and study. The Association provides them free room, meals and free education and tutoring, achieving great educational results.
