As we welcome the winter months, I invite you to open your hearts to those in need.

Today, I want to share the story of a remarkable mother named Simona and her beloved children: Elena, Rareș, Ștefan, Alexandru, Andrei, Raluca, Ioana, Ana, and Denisa. They are not just names on a long list; they are resilient souls who embody strength while navigating immense challenges. Simona’s heart is filled with love for her children, yet she faces hardships that many of us can scarcely imagine. Each day is a struggle to provide them with the essentials—a hot meal, clean clothes, and a sense of security. Her mind is burdened with the worry of whether she can meet their needs as she tries to catch a few hours of sleep beside their cribs each night.

Every Sunday, Simona kneels in prayer at the village church, surrounded by her wonderful children, dreaming of a home where they can all find comfort and safety. Sadly, their dreams feel distant, as the income from her husband’s hard work in construction is insufficient to complete the house that stands only partially finished in their yard. They hold onto hope that the sale of their 11 piglets will help them move one step closer to having a proper home, but for now, necessities remain a challenge.

Like Simona’s children, many on the List of Love yearn for the simple joys of childhood, free from the burdens of scarcity and worry. These mothers should not have to make such unimaginable sacrifices just to get by.
